Performance
Sunday 16 May, Mainstage
13 Mics
13 Mics explores the relationship between the human figure and the tangled iconography of the microphone. Using body popping as a porthole, characters switch between microphones, their speech juxtaposed. A single narrative is effected. Using the hi-energy of freestyle popping, text, rap, and cuts from the 20th century, Benji is the human sampler.
Directed by Jonzi D and Benji Reid
Accompanied by DJ Masta Wong
Bass: Steve Ojay
Drums: Myke Wilson
