back Robert Hylton Urban Classicism (UK) Robert Hylton began dancing on the street and in jazz clubs - experiences that led him to join Bamboozle, a street jazz dance crew based at Dance City in Newcastle. He then went on to train at Leeds Northern School of Contemporary Dance. Robert has toured, taught and performed both nationally and internationally. His choreographic credits include work presented at the Black Yorkshire Achievers Awards in Leeds. He choreographed Always Theatre Company in Chequered for The British Festival of Visual Theatre and created Jigsaw Jam with Kompany Malakhi in 1998. Robert has danced with contemporary companies and choreographers including Phoenix Dance Company, Jonzi D, Sharon Donaldson and JazzxChange. Robert founded Urban Classicism in 1999, and the group is currently developing the freestyle club jazz dance movement both in the community and on stage. www.urbanclassicism.com
