Poison Ivy - The Will to Live
Poison Ivy is a street dance and hip hop youth dance company led by choreographer Duane O'Garro. The company are aged between 14 and 17 years old and meet at St.Mary's Youth Club, Islington. The group regularly perform across London in a variety of contexts including nightclubs and theatres, most recently at Stratford Theatre Royal.

The Will To Live is a Sadler's Wells Bloomberg Connection commission which has enabled Natasha Khamjani, co-Artistic Director of Twitch to work with Poison Ivy. The Will to Live explores the choices a young man must make following a serious accident. With his life hanging in the balance he has an out of body experience and looking back over his life and relationships he must choose life or death.

100% - On Da Streets
100% is a Sadler's Wells Bloomberg Connection comission that has brought together some of the exciting young talent from across London to perform street dance/Hip Hop theatre. Impact Dance (Hakeem Onibudo) is working with this group of young people to create On Da Streets.

On Da Streets presents two rival gangs competing for status. When two members from the rival groups break the standoff, things turn ugly. Could a split second decision alter the future, do the youth of today have choices…?

Virus - Day Walkers
Virus was formed by dancer and choreographer Mukhtar Omar in 2002 and is one of three-groups under the headline company, Shadows of the Mist. In 2003 Plague, another of Mukhtar's groups, won the UK streetdance championships.

Impact Dance - R:evloution
Impact Dance was formed in 1995 by Hakeem Onibudo and it provides education and performance opportunities for a wide range people from children to adults and beginners to professional dancers.

Impact Dance will be performing R:evloution at Breakin' Convention. This piece looks at the evolution of man, throughout the ages, but what lies ahead? Expect an exciting, engaging, and enjoyable mix of Street Dance and Theatre, which is something that has come to be expected of Impact Dance.

Independance Performance Crew
The independance performance crew has come together especially to perform at Breakin' Convention. Battling against heavy competition the dancers auditioned for a place in the crew and were chosen for their style, creativity and expertise in Hip Hop. Following Breakin' Convention the crew will continue to train and perform under the direction of Independance. The crew have been coached by members of the Hip Hop Collective (HHC) who have worked on developing their skills and choreography. HHC is an international company of highly experienced dancers and teachers (having performed extensively in the UK and USA) who will be teaching and performing in London and across the UK this summer.

Independance is offering a comprehensive programme of Hip Hop activity from May-July with regular training sessions and master-classes for everyone to get involved in.



Boy Blue Entertainment - Klocks
Kenrick Sandy (Director and co-ordinator of Boy Blue Entertainment) formed his company in 2000 and since 2002 it has appeared under the name Boy Blue Entertainment. Kenrick is currently touring in Slam Dunk. Boy Blue Entertainment have performed across London in venues such as Stratford East, Hackney Empire and Royal Festival Hall and are still going! The dancers are aged between 18 and 25 years. Boy Blue Entertainment regularly presents a wide variety of audiences with this form of dance and encourages them to have fun with it.

Boy Blue Entertainment perform Klocks. Choreographed by Kenrick and the dancers it represents urban stylez street dance. Opening in a clockwork sequence, the dancers break free and jump forwards in time. This group of clockwork toys move through an atmospheric dream sequence before being pulled back through time to the clock.

The Ultimate Battle Zone - Holloway Boyz
Holloway Boyz are pupils at Holloway School, Islington and are aged 12 to 15 years. Dance has been an important part of after-school life for three years and is led by Jackie Sherron (Head of Dance and Drama). The boys meet to rehearse street dance and hip hop on Mondays and Thursdays. The Holloway Boyz are currently working on a dance project with Sadler's Wells made possible with sponsorship from Mellon Financial Corporation.

Tommy the Clown (USA) and the Krump dancers have led a two-day residency with the Holloway Boyz to create The Ultimate Battle Zone. Split into two groups the Boyz will battle against each other with some of the hottest Krump moves. Featuring Tommy the Clown as the Ringmaster Referee.
