DAVID COLAS (FRANCE) - In Art Monny A solo created and performed by David Colas In this solo work, David Colas presents an autobiographical account of his musical universe and artistic influences. His vision of dance offers a journey through time, widening the boundaries of traditional Hip Hop dance techniques. His work interprets the sensations produced by the perpetual combat between music and movement, through the use of a pair of Walkman headphones. In Art Monny is a work in development and this 10 minute excerpt begins at birth - expressed through ingenious floor work - and explores the possibilities of learning musicality through the headphones. David Colas is a member of the Franck II Louise Company and performs in "DROP IT!" and "1st Konnection" (Breakin' Convention 2005). Renowned for the musicality of his dance style, David Colas has won several battles and is often invited to judge international competitions. He regularly teaches master classes in Marseille, where he lives. He has been a key influence in the French Hip Hop dance scene since 1984, when he first appeared in the program "Hip Hop" on the French television TF1.
